St Leonard’s C of E Primary School in Walton-le-Dale is seeking a Teaching Assistant 2A with lunchtime welfare duties to join our dedicated team. The role covers 1:1 support, small groups and whole-class assistance, helping pupils achieve progress in a warm Christian environment.

The successful candidate will be an exemplary, patient and motivated support who communicates well, works collaboratively with staff and can adapt to varying classroom needs during the school day.

Summary The Governing Body of St Leonard’s C of E Primary school are seeking to appoint a highly skilled, motivated and experienced teaching assistant to join our inspirational and dedicated team of staff.

This role is an exciting role covering all duties as outlined in the TA 2a job description at St. Leonards CE Primary School. This role will be covering a variety of support from 1:1, small group and whole class.

The successful candidate will be required to be:

  • An exemplary candidate with a proven track record of work in a caring environment.
  • Have a good standard of Maths and English.
  • Motivating, patient, caring and considerate throughout their classroom practise
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Able to work well as a member of a team and have adaptability and flexibility in working practices;
  • Able to nurture, motivate and develop every child through high expectations of learning, achievement, progress and behaviour;
  • Willing to engage in the wider aspects of school life
  • Able to work with small groups outside of the classroom as well as supporting in class.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Grade A* - C at GCSE or O Levels/CSE in English & Maths (equivalent to A* - C GCSE)
  • NVQ Level 3 or above qualification appropriate to the post (or equivalent)
  • First Aid Certificate
