Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Blackpool

Vision for Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Blackpool to recruit a Higher Level Teaching Assistant. This Higher Level Teaching Assistant role in Blackpool is due to start in November and will initially continue for the remainder of the 2026/27 academic year, with the potential for a permanent position in 2027 for the successful candidate.

The Role

The successful Higher Level Teaching Assistant in Blackpool will play a vital role in supporting teaching and learning across the school.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting learning across the primary age range.
  • Delivering planned lessons to whole classes to cover PPA time and staff absence.
  • Leading targeted 1:1 interventions to support pupil progress.
  • Delivering small group interventions across a range of curriculum areas.
  • Working closely with teachers and school leaders to ensure consistency in learning.
  • Supporting pupils with a range of abilities and educational needs.
  • Helping to maintain a positive, engaging and inclusive learning environment throughout the school.

Requirements

To be considered for the Higher Level Teaching Assistant role in Blackpool, you will:

  • Be confident delivering lessons to whole classes.
  • Have experience delivering interventions to individual pupils and small groups.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
  • Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
