Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a motivated HLTA to join our dedicated team in Burnley, supporting learning across the primary age range and delivering targeted interventions.

The role involves covering classes, working with EYFS to KS2, and collaborating with teachers to raise attainment. Hours are 8.30am-3.30pm, pay £15.25-£16.50 per hour, with a long-term contract commencing 2 November 2026.

Qualifications

  • HLTA status or relevant qualifications and experience.
  • Experience in a primary school setting.
  • Ability to lead learning and manage whole classes independently.
  • Strong understanding of the primary curriculum.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality learning activities to individuals, small groups and whole classes.
  • Provide planned classroom cover in the absence of the class teacher.
  • Support pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 as required.
  • Deliver targeted interventions to raise attainment and support pupil progress.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers to plan, prepare and evaluate learning activities.
  • Support pupils with a range of learning needs, including SEND and EAL.
  • Promote positive behaviour, inclusion and high expectations.
  • Monitor, assess and report on pupil progress where appropriate.
  • Contribute to the wider life of the school and support school events and activities.

We are seeking to appoint a motivated, skilled and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity for a committed professional who is passionate about supporting children's learning and making a positive impact across the school.

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and leaders to support teaching and learning across the primary age range, delivering interventions, covering classes when required and helping to ensure that every pupil achieves their full potential.

Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

Location: Burnley
Salary: £15.25 - £16.50 per hour
Contract Type: Long-term
Hours: 8.30am - 3.30pm Monday - Friday
Start Date: Monday 2nd November 2026

Key Responsibilities
