Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting an HLTA for a specialist SEND setting in the OX12 area of Oxford. You will support secondary-aged pupils working at an Early Years level, providing individual and classroom support, and leading learning activities where appropriate.

The role is long-term with an immediate start. The successful candidate will work closely with teachers to promote communication, independence and engagement, with on-going CPD and a PAYE payroll setup.

Qualifications

• HLTA qualification or relevant HLTA experience.
• Experience supporting children or young people with complex SEND needs.
• Experience working with secondary-aged pupils.
• Confidence supporting pupils working at an Early Years level.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• A patient, resilient and adaptable approach.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils in line with individual learning plans and classroom activities.
• Lead learning activities where appropriate and work closely with teaching staff.
• Promote communication, independence and engagement for pupils with complex needs.

Are you confident providing consistent, personalised support to pupils with complex learning and developmental needs?

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist SEND setting in the OX12 area of Oxford supporting secondary-aged pupils with complex needs. The setting provides a nurturing and structured environment where pupils receive personalised support based on their individual learning, communication and developmental needs.

The setting is looking to appoint an HLTA on a long-term basis with an immediate start. The successful HLTA will support pupils working at an Early Years level despite being secondary age, providing individual and classroom support, leading learning activities where appropriate and working closely with teaching staff to promote communication, independence and engagement.

The successful HLTA will have:

• HLTA qualification or relevant experience working at HLTA level
• Experience supporting children or young people with complex SEND needs
• Experience working with secondary-aged pupils
• Confidence supporting pupils working at an Early Years level
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• A patient, resilient and adaptable approach
