Job summary

The McAuley Catholic High School in Doncaster is seeking a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (SEND) to start this Autumn term or ASAP. You will support SEND students, lead targeted interventions, and work with the SENCO and teaching staff to close gaps in literacy, numeracy and social skills within small groups.

37 hours per week, term time plus 3 INSET days. The role includes CPD opportunities, membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme and access to Westfield Health.

Qualifications

• Wide experience of understanding SEND needs with skills in planning and delivering interventions for vulnerable SEND children.
• Ability to lead individual and small group interventions to close gaps in social, literacy and number skills.
• Experience in nurture/inclusion settings would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Work with the SENCO, Teachers and Assistant Heads to plan, support and deliver intervention strategies to small groups of students following an alternative curriculum in school.
• Deliver targeted interventions to close attainment gaps in literacy, numeracy and social skills.
• Plan and deliver interventions 37 hours per week term time plus 3 INSET days.

We are looking toappoint a Higher Level Teaching Assistant with a SEND specialty to start this Autumn term or as soon as possible.

Applicants should have a wide experience of understanding SEND needs along with skills in planning and delivering specific interventions to vulnerable SEND children. Along with the ability to support SEND students with barriers to learning to become successful independent learners, you should be able to lead individual and small group interventions to close gaps in social skills, literacy skills and number skills. Having worked within a nurture/inclusion or wider school setting would be an advantage.

We are looking for an aspiring personthat has an aptitude for working with children and young people, has thepatience and skills along with a strong moral purpose to support a range of different abilities within aclassroom setting evidenced through unquestionable ambition for every single student.

Working 37 hours per week, term timeplus 3 INSET days, this role of HTLA is to work with the SENCO, Teachers and AssistantHeadteachers to plan, support and deliver intervention strategies to smallgroups of students following an alternative curriculum in school.
