About the role

:

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will work across all key stages in a growing Cwmbran primary school. You will support teachers with lesson planning and delivery, lead small group sessions, and occasionally take responsibility for whole classes in the teacher’s absence.

This is a highly collaborative role where you will work closely with teaching staff, SENCOs and other support professionals to help every child succeed.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead small group sessions and deliver lessons when required

  • Assist in planning, preparing and adapting lesson materials

  • Support the academic and emotional development of learners, including those with additional needs

  • Build strong relationships with pupils, staff and families

  • Promote a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment

  • Contribute to the wider life of the school and its ongoing development

  • What we’re looking for:

  • A Level 4 qualification (or equivalent) – this is essential for HLTA roles

  • Experience working within a primary school setting

  • Confidence in leading learning activities and managing a class when required

  • A calm, patient and flexible approach

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • A full driving licence and access to a vehicle (preferred, not essential)
