Job summary

Protocol Education is recruiting a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (Graduate Preferred) for a vibrant school in the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham. You will support learning, deliver lessons during PPA time, and provide targeted interventions to accelerate pupil progress.

Working with teachers and senior leaders, you will lead learning across year groups, monitor progress and help create a safe, inclusive classroom.

Qualifications

  • Requires a degree and strong academic background.
  • Experience working with children or young people in educational settings.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver planned lessons to whole classes during PPA time and absences.
  • Support teachers to plan, prepare and deliver engaging activities.
  • Provide targeted interventions to individuals and small groups.
  • Support pupils with learning needs, including SEND where appropriate.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to staff.
  • Promote positive behaviour and a safe learning environment.
  • Support wider school activities and enrichment.

Working closely with teachers and senior leaders, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality learning experiences, supporting pupils' academic, social and emotional development, and leading learning across a range of year groups.

The Role
  • Deliver planned lessons to whole classes during teachers' Planning, Preparation and Assessment (PPA) time and short-term absences.
  • Work alongside class teachers to plan, prepare and deliver engaging learning activities.
  • Provide targeted interventions to individuals and small groups to accelerate progress.
  • Support pupils with a range of learning needs, including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) where appropriate.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
  • Promote positive behaviour and contribute to a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
  • Support wider school activities, educational visits and enrichment opportunities.
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
  • Holds a degree (essential) and has a strong academic background.
  • Has experience working with children or young people in a school, tutoring, mentoring, coaching or youth work setting.
  • Has excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills.
  • Is confident leading learning and managing groups of pupils.
  • Demonstrates initiative, resilience and a positive attitude.
  • Has high expectations of all pupils and believes every child can succeed.
  • Is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
