Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Location: Bedford
Rate: £110 - £130 per day (dependent on experience)
Hours: Term time only
Are you a qualified HLTA looking for your next rewarding role in a specialist setting? A fantastic SEN school in Bedford is seeking a dedicated Higher Level Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025.
This role is ideal for HLTAs who want to:
* Take on more responsibility in a classroom setting
* Support pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN)
* Deliver planned learning activities and support pupil progress
* Be part of a supportive, specialised school environment
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver learning activities under the direction of the class teacher
* Provide targeted support for pupils with varying SEN needs
* Use strong behaviour management strategies to maintain a positive learning environment
* Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure the best outcomes for pupils
Key Requirements:
* HLTA qualification - this is essential
* Experience working with children or young people with SEN
* Confident leading sessions and supporting learning across the curriculum
* Strong understanding of behaviour management and inclusive practice
