Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking a Higher Level Learning Support Assistant in Blyth, Northumberland. You will work closely with class teachers, SENCOs and external specialists to implement targeted support strategies for learners, delivering academic, emotional and behavioural assistance across key stages.

Applicants should have an Enhanced DBS (update service), a Level 3 qualification in teaching/support, and prior experience with children.

Qualifications

Enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
Level 3 teaching/support qualification or higher.
Previous experience working with children and/or young people, preferably within an education setting.

Responsibilities

Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEND.
Deliver targeted interventions in literacy, numeracy, communication and social skills.
Assist in planning and adapting classroom activities to ensure accessibility and engagement.
Monitor, assess and record pupil progress and behaviour; feedback to staff/parents.
Collaborate with teaching staff, therapists and support services to implement EHCP targets and personalised learning plans.
Support transitions within school and between educational settings.
Contribute to development of inclusive teaching resources and strategies.
