About the Role:
Academics Crawley is working in partnership with a well-regarded secondary school in the Worthing area to recruit a dedicated and skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) for a full-time position starting in September 2025.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive and inclusive school environment, where your expertise will play a key role in both classroom support and leading learning activities. The role is well-suited to experienced support staff who are confident delivering lessons, supporting teachers, and helping students to achieve their potential.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan and deliver pre-prepared learning activities under the guidance of teaching staff

Provide in-class and small group support across Key Stages 3 and 4
*
Support classroom management and behaviour in line with school policies
*
Act as a point of contact for less experienced support staff and contribute to a collaborative working environment
Requirements:
*
HLTA qualification or equivalent experience in a higher-level support role
*
Strong subject knowledge and the ability to lead whole-class activities when required
*
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Desirable (but not essential):
*
Experience working in a secondary school setting
*
Experience supporting students with additional learning needs (SEN, EAL, etc.)
*
Interest in progressing into teaching or pastoral leadership
