Job summary

NCG HE Centre invites applications for a Student Success Tutor to provide targeted academic guidance and signpost students to appropriate services. The role focuses on continuation, progression, and positive outcomes within a supportive learning environment.

You will respond to queries, identify barriers to engagement, and arrange timely one-to-one interventions, supporting retention and successful student experiences across multiple learning formats.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from any UK recognised university.
• Minimum 1 year of experience in teaching or academic support at a HEI.

Responsibilities

• Provide proactive academic guidance and signposting to support services.
• Build positive relationships with students to boost motivation and engagement.
• Enable students to take responsibility for their progression and attainment.
• Deliver teaching and learning activities across lectures, tutorials, seminars, and online environments.
• Monitor engagement, attendance, and performance using data-informed approaches.
• Provide targeted academic support including study skills and assessment literacy.
• Identify barriers to learning and arrange timely interventions or referrals.
• Apply knowledge of academic regulations and assessment processes to advise students.
• Track assessment submissions and support with appropriate actions.
• Communicate effectively with students and colleagues in person, writing, and by telephone.
