Job summary

Heidelberg Materials UK is offering a Higher Apprentice in Concrete at Chipping Sodbury. You will join as a paid apprentice from day one, studying part-time at a university while gaining hands-on experience in our technical department to progress toward becoming an Area Technical Supervisor.

You will train across health and safety, environmental management, quality assurance and production operations, with mentorship and a structured learning plan linked to real projects.

Qualifications

  • 80+ UCAS points, 5 GCSEs (Grade 4/C or above) including Maths, English & Science
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Self-starter, team player, excellent communicator, flexible and proactive
  • British citizenship or UK settled status

Responsibilities

  • Support safety procedures and promote a strong safety culture through reporting and engagement.
  • Assist with permit compliance, resource-saving initiatives, and community liaison activities.
  • Work with the technical team to maintain product quality and operational efficiency.
  • Help ensure all activities meet legal and company standards.
  • Contribute to production targets, support plant and machinery management, and drive continuous improvement.
