This is a great opportunity to expand your skills and make a real impact. Based at the University of Southampton, you will support the team delivering innovative high voltage engineering projects, with the results written up as deliverable reports and publications. These findings will directly contribute to the safe operation of the National Supergrid, contributing to the low carbon future of the UK.
It is essential you have skill level equivalent to NQV3, HNC, A-level with proven work experience acquired in relevant technical support roles and job related training. You will demonstrate the ability to work independently and use your initiative but also work effectively in a team with strong communication skills. You will have proven organisational skills and take responsibility for tasks with other team members.
An undergraduate degree or an equivalent professional qualification and experience in a numerate discipline along with experience with numerical methods, either analytically or by using software (e.g. COMSOL, MAGNET, Ansys) is advantageous, but not essential.
The post will be held in the School of Electronics and Computer Science (ECS) (http://ecs.soton.ac.uk ).
