Job summary

Hill McGlynn are currently working with an established specialist contractor who are looking to appoint an experienced Technical / Design Manager to join their team, based from their Potters Bar offices, Hertfordshire. This is a key technical position within the business, taking responsibility for the design and technical management of high-rise recladding projects across RIBA Stages 3-6.

The successful candidate will have high-rise recladding sector experience, including experience in the

Qualifications

• Essential: prior Technical or Design Management in high-rise recladding.
• Experience preparing, coordinating or supporting Building Safety Regulator submissions.
• Strong knowledge of Building Regulations and Building Safety Act requirements.
• Experience across RIBA Stages 3-6 and coordinating multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and technical process across RIBA Stages 3-6.
• Coordinate architects, façade consultants, structural and fire engineers, and subcontractors.
• Prepare and coordinate Building Safety Regulator submissions.
• Ensure design information complies with Building Regulations and project specs.
• Manage design programmes and information release schedules.
• Review drawings, specifications and technical submissions.
• Resolve design coordination, buildability, and compliance issues.
• Chair design and technical meetings.
• Support procurement with design information coordination.
• Maintain accurate technical and design records.
• Support handover and close-out.
