Job summary

RTL Group Ltd in London seeks an experienced Design Manager to lead the design process for a major high-rise development. You will coordinate architects, engineers, consultants and subcontractors, ensuring design packages align with the programme and budget, while managing RFIs and design changes.

The role requires a strong technical background, stakeholder management, and the ability to juggle multiple design packages on a high-profile project.

Qualifications

• Experience as Design Manager on major construction projects.
• High-rise / large-scale residential experience advantageous.
• Strong technical and design coordination background.
• Experience with main contractor or major subcontractor.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple design packages and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate the design process from pre-construction through to delivery.
• Coordinate architects, engineers, consultants and specialist subcontractors.
• Review and manage design information, drawings and technical submissions.
• Ensure design packages are delivered in line with the construction programme.
• Manage RFIs, design changes and technical queries.
• Work closely with the Project Manager and wider site team.
• Ensure design solutions are practical, buildable and commercially viable.
• Monitor design progress and identify potential issues or delays.
• Attend design and coordination meetings.
• Manage multiple design packages and deadlines.
• Ensure design information complies with project requirements and relevant standards.
