Job summary

Academics is recruiting a High Needs Teaching Assistant in Rochester to support pupils with high SEN needs across KS1 and KS2. The role involves 1:1 and small-group support, helping children access learning and build independence, and contributing to a calm, inclusive classroom environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children with high SEN needs.
• Confident providing 1:1 support.
• Ability to work across KS1 and KS2.
• Patient, caring, resilient and adaptable.
• Holds Enhanced DBS (or willing to apply).
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with high additional needs.
• Support pupils across KS1 and KS2.
• Help pupils access learning and develop independence.
• Assist with behaviour, emotional regulation and pastoral needs as appropriate.
• Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals.
• Create a positive, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
