Job summary

Academics is seeking an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Southampton. You will support classroom activities, promote students' educational and social growth, and help create a positive learning environment.

The role covers planned PPA, leadership release time, staff training cover, and occasional emergencies. You will work under a qualified teacher, deliver group interventions, and contribute to a collaborative team focused on pupil development.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a teaching assistant role or similar educational setting is preferred.
• Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 4 HLTA certificate or a Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, are highly desirable.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, empathy, and a passion for working with children.
• Ability to work collaboratively and adapt in a team setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide planned PPA cover and leadership release time across the primary school.
