Job summary

The University of Chichester is seeking a dedicated Cover Supervisor to join our school community. The role involves working across different classes so class teachers can be released for PPA, ECT time and Leadership time.

We value candidates with a strong track record of effective teaching and a willingness to collaborate with staff to raise pupil attainment. Experience as a teacher or Higher Level Teaching Assistant is preferable but not essential.

• Experience in whole class teaching to release teachers for PPA, ECT time and Leadership time.
• Having a teaching or Higher Level Teaching Assistant qualification is preferable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Join as a Cover Supervisor to work in different classes across the school.
• Provide whole class teaching to enable release for PPA, ECT time and Leadership time.
• Support pupil welfare and inclusion in all aspects of academy life.
• Collaborate with teaching staff in planning and resource management.
• Assist with planning, monitoring, assessing and managing classes to raise standards.

Duties

complement teachers' delivery of the curriculum and contribute to the development of other support staff, pupils and academy policies and strategies

work collaboratively with teaching staff and assist them in the whole planning cycle and the management/preparation of resources

provide support to pupils, teachers and the academy in order to raise standards of achievement for all, by utilising your advanced levels of knowledge and skills when assisting with planning, monitoring, assessing and managing classes

encourage pupils to become independent learners

provide support for pupil welfare and support the inclusion of pupils in all aspects of academy life

Role Overview

We are delighted to be seeking a new colleague to join us as a Cover Supervisor who will work in different classes across the school. This role will involve whole class teaching so class teachers can be released for PPA, ECT time and Leadership time. This dedicated role would suit a more experienced candidate who can demonstrate a strong track record of effective teaching that supports pupil progress. Already having either a teaching or Higher Level Teaching Assistant qualification is preferable but not essential.
