Job summary

McLaren Automotive Ltd. is seeking a Mechatronics/Automotive Engineering specialist to lead the design and development of advanced vehicle dynamics and control systems.

You will craft model-based control strategies using Matlab/Simulink and push from concept through to production for active and semi-active systems. You will collaborate across Dynamics and Controls teams, with a strong emphasis on ride and vehicle state estimation, calibration, and integration in a high-performance automotive

Qualifications

• First-rate Mechatronics / Automotive Engineering degree, with excellent knowledge and understanding in vehicle-dynamics and controls
• Good understanding of vehicle-dynamics and controls at an advanced level

Job description

• This role is part of the Product Development department which likes to support an innovative and collaborative atmosphere therefore we are interested in a diverse background of talents and experience
• Target setting, design and development of HLCS for active and semi/active systems affecting vehicle dynamics, in particular related to the chassis control system development (e.g. Torque management systems, active suspension, active aero systems, steering systems)
• Represent the link between the Dynamics attribute team and the Controls development team
• The role involves high competencies in general vehicle and ride dynamics, systems integration, and vehicle state estimation in order to define the right ride attributes at the vehicle level
• Conduct concept work in Simulation environment for the evaluation of different strategies in line with the vehicle dynamics performance indexes, with focus on delivering systems in line with the McLaren DNA
• Co-design of rapid prototyping SW together with the Controls Department that satisfies the Dynamics requirements while being oriented for production
