Job summary

IC Resources is seeking an experienced Control Systems Engineer to join our Advanced Technology team in Oxford, UK. You’ll work hands-on across control algorithms, modelling, simulation and system testing for electromechanical, optical, aerospace and robotic applications.

You will design and document control requirements, build HIL real-time simulations in MATLAB/Simulink, and verify performance in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years’ commercial experience developing control systems for complex dynamic systems.
• Proficiency with MATLAB and Simulink or equivalent tools.
• Experience translating system-level requirements into control requirements and verification activities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose complex system behaviour using simulation and test data.

Control Systems Engineer | Advanced Technology

We’re looking for an experienced Control Systems Engineer to join a growing team developing advanced control systems for complex electromechanical, optical, aerospace and robotic applications.

This is a hands‑on engineering role where you’ll work across control algorithms, modelling, simulation and system testing, solving challenging problems as part of a multidisciplinary team.

What you’ll be doing:

• Develop and document control-system requirements and support software implementation of control algorithms.


• Develop and maintain Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) real-time simulations.


• Model, test and validate control algorithms for dynamic systems.


• Perform trade‑off analysis of control concepts, components and system architectures.


• Maintain pointing budgets and ensure control systems meet system‑level requirements.


• Work closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams to develop and verify advanced control solutions.

What we’re looking for:

• 3+ years’ commercial experience developing control systems for complex dynamic systems.


• Degree in Control, Electrical/Electronic, Robotics, Aerospace Engineering, Physics or a related discipline.


• Practical experience designing, modelling, implementing and testing control algorithms.


• Proficiency with MATLAB and Simulink or equivalent tools.


• Experience translating system‑level requirements into control requirements and verification activities.


• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to diagnose complex system behaviour using simulation and test data.
