Job summary

Pertemps Bond is hiring a professional HGV Class 2 Driver for a Monday to Friday role based in Northampton. This temp-to-perm position offers stable work with long-term prospects and a clear route to permanent employment.

You will deliver building materials across Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire and nearby areas using a Class 2 curtain-sided vehicle, completing several drops daily while maintaining safety and compliance. Training for MOFFETT will be provided where needed.

Qualifications

• Class 2 (Cat C) Licence required
• Driver CPC Card required
• Digital Tachograph Card required
• Minimum 2 years HGV 2 experience
• Experience securing loads with ratchet straps
• Willingness to train and operate a MOFFETT

Responsibilities

• Deliver a range of building materials to construction sites, refurbishments, and residential developments across the region
• Drive a Class 2 curtain-sided vehicle
• Complete between 1 and 8 drops per day, typically 5–6 deliveries
• Average two delivery runs per day
• Cover Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire, Huntingdonshire and surrounding areas
• Occasional deliveries into Central London
• Conduct daily vehicle checks and complete delivery paperwork
• Ensure loads are safely secured using ratchet straps and load restraint equipment
• Operate a MOFFETT after training is completed
• Provide a professional service to customers on site
• Maintain communication with the transport team throughout the day

Location: Northampton

Pay: £15.34 per hour

Days: Monday to Friday

Hours: 06:30 starts, typically finished by 16:00-17:00

Temp to Perm: 8 Week opportunity

We're looking for a professional Class 2 Driver to join a busy and well-established client delivering materials across Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire and surrounding areas. This is a temp-to-perm position offering consistent work, excellent support and long-term prospects.

What will you be doing?

• You'll be delivering a range of building materials to construction sites, refurbishment projects and residential developments throughout the region.
• Driving a Class 2 curtain-sided vehicle
• Completing between 1 and 8 drops per day, typically 5 to 6 deliveries
• Averaging two delivery runs per day
• Covering Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire, Huntingdonshire and surrounding areas
• Occasional deliveries into Central London
• Conducting daily vehicle checks and completing delivery paperwork
• Ensuring loads are safely secured using ratchet straps and load restraint equipment
• Operating a MOFFETT following successful training
• Providing a professional service to customers on site
• Maintaining communication with the transport team throughout the day

Who are we looking for?

We're looking for a safe, professional and reliable driver with experience in multi-drop delivery work.

• Class 2 (Category C) Licence
• Valid Driver CPC Card
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card
• A minimum of two years HGV 2 experience.
• Experience securing loads using ratchet straps
• Good understanding of load restraint and transport compliance
• A professional and customer-focused approach
• A willingness to train and operate a MOFFETT

Important

The successful applicant will be required to complete MOFFETT training and use the equipment as part of the role. This is a mandatory requirement and not optional.
