Pertemps Milton Keynes is seeking an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver for a Thursday-Friday start in Northampton. This temp-to-perm role offers a stable Monday to Friday schedule with progression to a permanent position.

The pay is £15.34 per hour, with MOFFETT training provided as part of the long-term career path. You'll deliver materials across Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire and surrounding areas, with typically 5–6 drops per day and occasional Central London deliveries.

Qualifications

• Two years HGV 2 experience.
• Experience securing loads with ratchet straps.
• Proficient with load restraint and transport compliance.
• Willingness to train and operate a MOFFETT.

Responsibilities

• Deliver building materials to sites across Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire and surrounding areas.
• Drive a Class 2 curtain-sided vehicle.
• Complete 1–8 drops per day (typically 5–6).
• Conduct daily vehicle checks and complete delivery paperwork.
• Ensure loads are secured and loads restrained.
• Provide professional service to customers on site.
• Maintain communication with transport team throughout the day.

HGV Class 2 Driver | Temp to Perm

06:30 starts, typically finished by 16:00-17:00

No weekends, very little handballing and full MOFFETT training provided as part of a long-term career opportunity.

We're looking for a professional Class 2 Driver to join a busy and well-established client delivering materials across Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire and surrounding areas. This is a temp-to-perm position offering consistent work, excellent support and long-term prospects.

What will you be doing?

1. You'll be delivering a range of building materials to construction sites, refurbishment projects and residential developments throughout the region.
2. Driving a Class 2 curtain-sided vehicle
3. Completing between 1 and 8 drops per day, typically 5 to 6 deliveries
4. Averaging two delivery runs per day
5. Covering Northamptonshire, Cambridgeshire, Huntingdonshire and surrounding areas
6. Occasional deliveries into Central London
7. Conducting daily vehicle checks and completing delivery paperwork
8. Ensuring loads are safely secured using ratchet straps and load restraint equipment
9. Operating a MOFFETT following successful training
10. Providing a professional service to customers on site
11. Maintaining communication with the transport team throughout the day

Who are we looking for?

We're looking for a safe, professional and reliable driver with experience in multi-drop delivery work.

You’ll need:

• Class 2 (Category C) Licence
• Valid Driver CPC Card
• Valid Digital Tachograph Card
• A minimum of two years HGV 2 experience.
• Experience securing loads using ratchet straps
• Good understanding of load restraint and transport compliance
• A professional and customer-focused approach
• A willingness to train and operate a MOFFETT

The successful applicant will be required to complete MOFFETT training and use the equipment as part of the role. This is a mandatory requirement and not optional.
