Job summary

JAM Recruitment Ltd is recruiting an experienced HGV Workshop Manager to head a busy commercial vehicle workshop in Stoke-on-Trent. You will oversee maintenance, repair and compliance across a diverse fleet with a proactive, hands-on leadership approach.

The role demands strong diagnostic abilities and prior supervision experience, managing workflow and ensuring safety and efficiency across daily operations.

Qualifications

• Hands-on leadership with broad HGV technical expertise.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding capabilities.
• Experience supervising workshop staff and managing costs.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise HGV technicians, mechanics and workshop staff.
• Plan, schedule and allocate daily maintenance and repair work.
• Ensure DVSA, MOT and Operator Licence compliance for all vehicles.
• Oversee vehicle inspections, servicing programmes and preventative maintenance.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and compliance reports.
• Monitor workshop productivity, labour costs and parts expenditure.
• Liaise with fleet management and senior leadership.
• Coordinate vehicle breakdown support when required.
