Job summary

Kautec Recruitment is seeking a Workshop Supervisor for an HGV workshop in Reading. The role leads a team of skilled technicians and ensures efficient daily operations from 6am to 6pm, Monday to Friday. The position offers a permanent full-time contract with a salary up to £60,000 per annum.

The successful candidate will have senior HGV experience, be fully qualified (City & Guilds or NVQ), and be comfortable with vehicle transaction systems and IT tools. They may assist mechanics when needed.

Qualifications

• Senior HGV technician with supervisory/chargehand experience.
• Familiar with diesel, hybrid and fully electric vehicles.
• Fully qualified to City & Guilds or NVQ level or equivalent.
• Experience using vehicle transaction systems and solid IT skills.
• Reading-based workshop with Monday–Friday, 45 hours per week, with overtime and up to £60k salary.

Responsibilities

• Oversee productivity and overall efficiencies of a busy workshop.
• Oversee day-to-day activity and allocate jobs via a card system.
• Ensure work is carried out to correct specifications within time frames.
• Liaise with Parts Department to ensure correct equipment and stock levels.
• May assist mechanics in the workshop when required.
