Job summary

Lanes Group in Sandon Dock, Liverpool, is recruiting a HGV Waste Water Operative to support United Utilities under the Bucket 1 reactive contract. The role operates on a shift pattern: 8am–6pm front shift and 12pm–10pm back shift, with weekends and bank holidays included.

You will work with a UU Customer Support Technician to clean, jet, CCTV and investigate sewer networks, report safety issues, and log data on laptops or tablets.

Qualifications

• Class 2 HGV licence with no more than 6 points.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Competent with laptops, tablets and digital systems for recording data.
• Understanding of Health & Safety legislation.
• Ability to perform routine equipment checks and servicing.
• Teamwork in collaboration with a United Utilities CST.
• Good problem-solving and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Clean, camera and carry out sewer investigations as directed by United Utilities.
• Attend to customers, informing them of works to be carried out and answering any concerns as well as timescales.
• Inspect drainage systems to identify blockages, leaks, or damage that could hinder water flow.
• Carry out all aspects of high pressure water jetting.
• Operate high-pressure water jetting equipment to clean and clear blockages in drains, sewers, pipes, and other wastewater systems.
• Carry out CCTV inspections where required to assess the condition of underground pipes and sewers.
• Competent in using an electronic device - laptop / tablet for data entry purposes.
• Ensuring safety issues are reported in line with company procedures.
• Perform routine maintenance and servicing of high-pressure water jetting equipment to ensure it is in proper working order.
