Job summary

Lanes Group is seeking a CCTV and jetting operative at Rochdale WWTW to support United Utilities on a reactive contract. Work is on a shift basis from 8am-6pm and 12pm-10pm, with weekends and bank holidays included. The role involves high-pressure jetting, CCTV inspections, and customer liaison.

You will collaborate with a UU Operative to carry out sewer investigations, ensure safety, and record data via laptops/tablets. Overtime is paid at time and a half.

Qualifications

• HGV Class 2 (C) licence required.
• Desirable: NRSWA - Sign, Lighting, Guarding.
• Desirable: High pressure water jetting experience.
• Desirable: Emergency First Aid at work, Manual Handling.

Responsibilities

• You will work closely with a CST to clean, camera and carry out sewer investigations as directed by United Utilities.
• Attend to customers, inform them of works and timescales and answer concerns.
• Inspect and investigate drainage systems to identify blockages, leaks, or damage.

Department:

Sapphire Utility Solutions, a Lanes Group Company specialise in multiple divisions.

United Utilities operates across a number of contracts across our business, predominantly wastewater network services as part of the AMP 7 period plan.
The Team support reactive and planned maintenance across the CCTV & Jetting and Civils teams, further supported by our in house Traffic Management Division and Capital Projects covering the entire UU network.

Purpose of the role:

The role available will be working from the Rochdale WWTW alongside a United Utilities Customer Support Technician, where you will be required to work on the Bucket 1 reactive contract solving problems on the sewer network. This role will be on a shift-based pattern with working times of 8am to 6pm front shift and 12pm to 10pm back shift.Weekends and Bank Holidays are included.

Location:

Rochdale covering Pennine Area

Hours:

42.5 hours per week (based on a 27 week rota)

Salary:

£34,269-£38,542 per annum base salary (depending on experience)

Overtime rates:

For weekday, weekend and Bank Holiday work paid at time and a half

Key Responsibilities:

• You will be working closely with a CST (UU Operative) to clean, camera and carry out sewer investigations as directed by United Utilities.
• Attending to customers, informing them of works to be carried out and answering any concerns as well as timescales
• Inspect and investigate drainage systems to identify blockages, leaks, or damage that could cause impact to customers and network.
• Carry out all aspects of high pressure water jetting
• Operate high-pressure water jetting equipment to clean and clear blockages in drains, sewers, pipes, and other wastewater systems.
• Carry out CCTV inspections where required to assess the condition of underground pipes and sewers.
• Competent in using an electronic device - laptop / tablet for data entry purposes
• Ensuring safety issues are reported in line with company procedures
• Perform routine maintenance and servicing of high-pressure water jetting equipment to ensure it is in proper working order.
