Job summary

Lanes Group in Havant is recruiting for a full-time role on our Southern Water contract. You will travel in a two-person team to residential sites to repair and maintain drainage systems.

Using high pressure jetting, patch liners, Picote tooling and drain surveying equipment, you will deliver first-time fixes and quality reports while prioritising safety. The position is Monday to Friday, 50 hours per week, with a salary of £42,522.

A HGV Class 2 licence, CPC and digi tachograph card are required.

Qualifications

• Experience with HGV Class 2 licence, CPC and tachograph card is required.
• High Pressure Jetting experience is useful but not essential.
• Confined Space Entry training (AP2) is a plus.

Responsibilities

Purpose of the role:
Due to continued growth and development, we are now looking for customer focused people to join us in our Utility Division, working on our Southern Water contract service to deliver real and effective solutions to waste‑water network and drainage problems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Travelling to residential sites via a specially equipped van in a two person team, around the region.

• Repair and maintain drainage systems, installingpatch liners to carry out first‑time‑fix sewer and drain repair.
• Utilise the Picote system to remove scale, roots, concrete, and other hard obstructions that high pressure water jetting systems can’t remove.
• Survey the network of drainage systems and assess pip conditions to produce high quality reports with the help of state of the art drain surveying equipment.
• Record each job report correctly on the specialist equipment provided.
• Delivering good customer service.

• Maintaining good H&S practise while carrying out works.

• Ensure vehicle stock is full and replenished.

• To comply with health and safety responsibilities i.e. PPE / safe site set ups protecting Lanes Group employees, the public and other road users.

• To be able to utilise VISTEC and Salesforce platforms.

• Liaising with the client regarding progress and any updates.

• Ability to work unsupervised in all weather conditions utilising correct PPE, lone worker system, etc.

• Dynamically risk assess site access & working conditions depending on specific circumstances on arrival.

• Provide support to your colleagues.

• To conduct thorough inspections of tools, equipment and plant before/after use.

• Report any defects or malfunctions in regards to training.

• Carry out risk assessments and have a mature approach to risk perception.

• Be aware of all Lanes Group policies and your responsibility towards them.

• Any other reasonable ad-hoc duties requested by management.

Key Requirements

Skills & Experience:

• Experience in the use of High Pressure Jetting equipment is useful but not essential, as is Confined Space Entry training (AP2).
• You must have a HGV Class 2 licence, valid CPC and have an up to date digi tachograph card.
