Job summary

Bennett & Game Recruitment Limited is seeking an HGV / Van Technician for the Purfleet, Essex workshop. You will service, maintain and repair HGVs, trailers and light commercial vehicles, diagnosing faults and preparing vehicles for MOT testing.

Working Monday to Friday with 10-hour shifts, you will receive overtime paid at time and a half, with optional Saturday morning overtime. This is a workshop-based role with long-term opportunities in a growing business.

Qualifications

• Experience as HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, Heavy Vehicle Technician, Van Technician, or LCV Technician.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Experience working on HGVs, trailers, or light commercial vehicles.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a workshop team.
• Class 1 (C+E) Licence would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs, trailers, and light commercial vehicles.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults.
• Complete vehicle inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT testing.
• Complete workshop documentation and service records accurately.
• Maintain a safe and tidy working environment.

Location: Purfleet, Essex

Salary: £20.00 per hour (Negotiable DOE)

Job Overview

• Carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HGVs, trailers, and light commercial vehicles
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults
• Complete vehicle inspections and preventative maintenance
• Prepare vehicles for MOT testing
• Complete workshop documentation and service records accurately
• Maintain a safe and tidy working environment
• Provide breakdown support when required (rare occasions)

Requirements

• Previous experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, Heavy Vehicle Technician, Van Technician, or LCV Technician
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
• Experience working on HGVs, trailers, or light commercial vehicles
• Ability to work independently and as part of a workshop team
• Class 1 (Category C+E) Licence would be advantageous
