Job summary

King Lifting in Avonmouth is seeking an experienced HGV Truck & Trailer Technician to join our busy workshop. You will maintain, inspect, diagnose and repair HGV trucks and trailers to DVSA standards, with a focus on safety and reliability.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience in heavy vehicle maintenance, NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds, a full UK driving licence, and the ability to work flexibly to deadlines.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as an HGV Technician or Trailer Technician.
• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in heavy vehicle maintenance or repair.
• Full UK Driving Licence; Class 1 desirable.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGV trucks and trailers.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic faults.
• Complete vehicle inspections, MOT preparations and preventative checks.
• Conduct brake testing and suspension repairs.
• Repair and maintain trailer systems including ABS/EBS.
• Accurately complete job cards and maintenance records.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety DVSA standards.
• Respond to vehicle breakdowns and work flexibly as needed.
• Work effectively independently and as part of a team.

We are seeking an experienced and motivated HGV Truck & Trailer Technician to join our busy workshop team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, inspection, diagnosis and repair of HGV vehicles and trailers, ensuring all work is carried out safely, efficiently and to DVSA standards.

Essential Requirements

• The right to live and work in the UK.
• Proven experience as an HGV Technician, Trailer Technician or Commercial Vehicle Technician.
• Relevant qualifications in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds or equivalent).
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Good understanding of HGV and trailer braking systems.
• Full UK Driving Licence. Class 1 would be desirable.
• Positive attitude and strong work ethic.
• Ability to work flexibility to deadlines while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
