Career Choices Dewis Gyrfa Ltd. is recruiting for an HGV Trailer Technician in the Willenhall area. The role targets experienced trailer and heavy-vehicle technicians to join a leading transport and logistics provider.

Basic salary up to £46,000 with bonus earnings around £54,000. Benefits include a welcome bonus, pension, holidays with buy/sell, income protection and development opportunities. On-site parking and health/safety focus apply.

Qualifications

• Experience working with semi-trailers or heavy vehicles.
• IRTEC accreditation or equivalent.
• City & Guilds/NVQs in relevant trade or craft.
• HGV Class 1 driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed inspections, servicing and repairs on trailers ensuring safety and functionality.
• Complete compliance documentation accurately and efficiently.
• Diagnose and resolve issues using EBS systems such as HALDEX, WABCO and KNORR BREMSE.
• Participate in ongoing product and industry training including IRTEC, tail lift, BPW and SAF axle/brake training.
• Deliver customer service within tight deadlines and follow health and safety protocols.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed inspections, servicing, and repairs on trailers, ensuring safety and functionality
• Complete compliance documentation accurately and efficiently
• Diagnose and resolve issues using EBS systems such as HALDEX, WABCO, and KNORR BREMSE
• Participate in ongoing product and industry training, including IRTEC, tail lift, BPW, and SAF axle/brake training
• Deliver exceptional customer service within tight deadlines
• Follow health and safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment

Requirements

• Experience working with semi-trailers or heavy vehicles
• Industry-standard qualifications such as City & Guilds or NVQs
• Valid HGV Class 1 driving licence
• IRTEC accreditation
• EBS diagnostics experience, including Knorr Bremse, Haldex, and WABCO systems
• Welding certification
• Experience or training with axle manufacturers such as BPW, SAF, or JOST
• Experience with tail lifts, double deck, or lifting deck maintenance
