Job summary

A leading automotive trailer service company in Stoke-on-Trent is seeking an HGV Trailer Technician to carry out inspections, servicing and repairs on heavy trailers. You will complete documentation and liaise with the Service and Parts departments to ensure smooth operation.

The ideal candidate has experience with semi-trailers, City & Guilds or NVQs, IRTEC is desirable, and knowledge of axle/brake systems. 40-hour weeks, with options for ongoing training and development.

Qualifications

• Experience with semi-trailers or heavy vehicles.
• IRTEC accreditation preferred but not essential.
• City & Guilds or NVQs in relevant field.
• Experience with brakes, electrics, and hydraulics is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine inspections, servicing, and repairs on HGV trailers.
• Complete job sheets and documentation.
• Liaise with Service and Parts Departments.
• Prepare trailers for MOT.

Job description

We are currently seeking a HGV Trailer Technician on behalf of our Client, an Automotive trailer service company based in the Stoke-on-Trent area.

The successful HGV Trailer Technician can expect a salary of up to £40000 with OTE of circa £42000 and working hours of Monday to Friday - 40 hours per week.

Duties:

• Carry out routine inspections, servicing, and repairs on HGV trailers
• Completion of Job Sheets and Documentation
• Liaising with the Service Department and Parts Department
• Completion of MOT preparation

Requirements:

• Experience working with semi-trailers or heavy vehicles.
• Industry qualifications (City & Guilds or NVQs).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards.
• IRTEC accreditation. Desired, but not essential.
• EBS diagnostics experience (Knorr Bremse, Haldex, WABCO).
• Welding certification.
• Experience with axle manufacturers (BPW, SAF, JOST).
• Tail lift & double-deck maintenance experience.
