Job summary

Auto Skills UK in Barnsley is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to service, maintain, diagnose and repair HGVs and commercial vehicles, ensuring all work is completed safely and to a high standard.

Shifts rotate with 40 hours weekly plus 1-in-3 Saturdays, and a salary of £44,360 per annum based on contracted hours with enhanced overtime. Desirable experience includes HGV Class 1/2 licences and modern diagnostic systems.

Qualifications

• Experienced HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic.
• Strong commercial vehicle maintenance and repair experience.
• Good mechanical and diagnostic skills.
• Reliable, flexible and a strong team player.
• Able to work efficiently while maintaining a right-first-time approach.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical, electrical and technical faults
• Carry out servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance
• Complete repairs to manufacturer standards
• Identify faults and report findings accurately
• Complete job cards and workshop documentation
• Work as part of a professional, supportive workshop team
