Job summary

Perfect Placement is seeking a skilled HGV Technician in the United Kingdom to join its service team. You will review job cards, perform maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on heavy goods vehicles, and ensure work meets quality standards.

The role offers a competitive salary up to £46,000 per annum with overtime, market-leading training, a rotating shift pattern including evenings and weekends, a company pension, and other employee benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience with HGVs, LCVs, or similar commercial vehicles.
• Strong diagnostic skills and technical knowledge.
• Ability to work effectively in a team with a proactive attitude.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Solid problem-solving ability with emphasis on safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Receive and review job cards allocated by the workshop controller.
• Perform routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs.
• Test vehicle systems using advanced diagnostic equipment.
• Inspect vehicles for damage or malfunctions and carry out repairs or replacements.
• Reline, adjust and replace brakes and other critical systems.
• Service air conditioning, electrical, heating and cooling systems.
• Identify faults, source parts and ensure work meets quality standards.
• Conduct inspections and tests to evaluate vehicle safety and performance.
