Job summary

Caledonian Automotive Recruitment seeks an experienced HGV Technician for night shifts in Purfleet, Essex, on a 4-day week. The role pays £30 per hour with overtime at 1.5x. You will service, maintain and repair HGVs and trailers, diagnose faults, and ensure safety standards are met.

Applicants should have IMI Level 3 / NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds or equivalent, with strong documentation and compliance skills. Rotating shifts and good pension/benefits are included.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs and trailers.

An excellent and rare opportunity has become available for a workshop HGV Technician on Nights working a 4-DAY week in the Purfleet, Essex area paying an impressive £30 per hour with overtime paid at x1.5 (Time & Half)

You will be an experienced Technician with previous experience working on HGV, Heavy Vehicle, Commercial Vehicles and will hold suitable qualifications such as IMI Level 3, NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds etc.

Duties and responsibilities include:

• Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs and trailers
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults
• Complete inspections and preventative maintenance
• Ensure vehicles are maintained to a high standard and comply within safety requirements
• Carry out repairs efficiently to minimise vehicle downtime
• Complete maintenance records and paperwork accurately

We are looking for a number of Technicians who are prepared to work either Monday – Thursday night shift (7:30pm – 6:00pm) or Tuesday – Friday night shift (7:30pm – 6:00pm) or rotating the 2 shifts on a weekly basis.

10.5 hour standard shifts with 30 mins unpaid break (10 hours paid).

All overtime is paid at Time & Half (x1.5) with excellent pension and company benefits available.
