Job summary

Veolia in Amersham is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to repair and maintain the Veolia fleet and third-party vehicles. You will run diagnostics with various equipment, and perform hydraulic, electrics, and pneumatic work to high standards.

You’ll work 40 hours weekly (Mon–Fri) with available overtime; safety, accurate paperwork, and timely MOT handling are essential. A valid driving licence is required; IRTEC licence is desirable, with additional licence bonuses.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds or NVQ level 3 in HGV Engineering or equivalent.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team and individually.
• Ability to work under pressure and actively seek solutions to problems.
• Flexibility to undertake a wide range of tasks.
• Thorough Knowledge of current HGV MOT regulations and standards.
• Driving Licence.
• IRTEC Licence desirable.
• Waste/RCV vehicle experience desirable.
• Welding/fabrication experience or forklift licence desirable.

Responsibilities

• Repair and maintain the Veolia Fleet, 3rd party vehicles and plant in accordance with manufacturer and industry standards.
• Run diagnostics on vehicles using a range of equipment.
• Hydraulic, electrics, pneumatics diagnostics and repairs.
• Other general work as required by the Workshop Management Team.
• Work within Health & Safety regulations and be responsible for your safety and those around you.
• Ensure that all necessary paperwork, and time sheets are completed accurately.
• Carry out HGV MOT inspections and preparations.
• Complete roadside repairs when necessary.
