Qualifications

Job description

HGV TECHNICIAN

07:00am - 16:00pm or 10:00am - 19:00pm HGV Workshop Mechanic required.

Salary: GBP22.00 - GBP24.00 per hour plus quarterly bonus.

Location: Liverpool

Position: HGV Technician / Fleet Mechanic / HGV Mechanic / Fleet Engineer / Mechanic / Fleet Maintenance Technician / Commercial Vehicle Technician / Heavy Vehicle Technician / Diesel Mechanic

Hours of Work: Two shifts available: 07:00am - 16:00pm and 10:00am - 19:00pm (can be on a rota or set shift).

This is a workshop-based role involving breakdown attendance in a company van.

Responsibilities include:

• Carrying out scheduled servicing, inspections, and preparation for testing of fleet vehicles (HGV to LCV, trailers, and other vehicles).
• Conducting regular safety inspections to comply with statutory requirements and maintaining the Goods Vehicle Operator's Licence; repairing defects as needed.
• Inspecting vehicles to diagnose faults (mechanical, electrical, hydraulic) and performing repairs.
• Completing all records related to inspections, servicing, and repairs in accordance with statutory and administrative standards.
• Collaborating with colleagues, vehicle operatives, and managers to prioritize workload, organize parts, and seek specialist support when required.

Candidate requirements:

• Level 3 City & Guilds or NVQ qualification, or equivalent; Level 2 or time-served experience will also be considered.
• HGV licence is advantageous.
• Diagnostic experience is an advantage.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
