Job summary

Volvo Trucks is seeking a skilled HGV technician to inspect, diagnose and repair a wide range of trucks, carrying out MOT service inspections and fault finding to Volvo standards. The role offers a competitive salary with overtime, a signing bonus, and a quarterly bonus scheme, plus generous holiday and pension benefits.

You will work on-site in Scotland, support trainee apprentices, and be part of a team pushing high safety and quality benchmarks while maintaining vehicle systems and paperwork

Qualifications

• A Level 3 NVQ or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance.
• Previous experience working on HGVs or an apprenticeship in the HGV industry.

Responsibilities

• Carry out regular MOT service inspections on a wide range of manufacturers’ trucks.
• Carry out repairs to a high standard according to Volvo procedures, safely and responsibly.
• Assist in the fault diagnosis process.
• Service Customer Vehicles and complete service sheets.
• Road test vehicles when required (if you hold an HGV license).
• Assist with roadside breakdowns.
• Process all relevant paperwork relating to jobs accurately.
• Ensure all vehicle defects are reported.
• Keep all workshop facilities, equipment, and tools clean, tidy and well maintained.
• Help us in supporting the development of trainees and apprentices.

Salary

Salary: Competitive + OVERTIME + BONUS + PLUS £1000 SIGNING ON BONUS (£500 after 6 months + £500 after completion of 1 year service)
