Job summary

NMS Recruit is seeking an experienced HGV Technician for a hands-on contract role in Bracknell, operating within a busy fleet maintenance environment. You will carry out servicing, inspections, repairs and prepare vehicles for MOT, ensuring safety and reliability.

The role requires a recognised qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, strong fault-finding skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced workshop. Contract inside IR35 and up to 12 weeks.

Qualifications

• Recognised qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent experience.
• Proven experience maintaining and repairing HGVs.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a busy workshop.
• A thorough approach to health and safety.
• Experience with refuse collection vehicles would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs and associated equipment.
• Complete vehicle inspections and prepare vehicles for MOT.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
• Respond to defects and breakdowns, helping minimise vehicle downtime.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs and work completed.
• Work closely with the workshop team to maintain high standards of safety and workmanship.
