Job summary

AutoSkills (United Kingdom) is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join our Eastleigh depot. You will carry out routine safety inspections, preventative maintenance, and prepare vehicles for MOT testing.

The role includes diagnosing faults, performing mechanical repairs, brake testing, and welding/fabrication work on rigid and articulated HGVs, including curtain-sided vehicles and skeletal trailers. 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday.

Qualifications

• Ideally qualified to Level 3 in HGV Maintenance and Repair.
• HGV Class 1 driving licence – essential.
• Experience with rigid and articulated vehicles.
• Experience with curtain-sided vehicles and skeletal trailers.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine safety inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Prepare HGVs for MOT testing.
• Complete brake testing and associated inspections.
• Undertake welding and fabrication work.
• Diagnose faults and carry out mechanical repairs.
• Service and repair rigid and articulated HGVs.
• Work on curtain-sided vehicles and skeletal (skelly) trailers.
