Job summary

Perfect Placement is seeking a skilled HGV Technician in Widnes to join a leading Commercial Dealer Group. The role covers maintenance and repairs on a range of commercial vehicles and trailers with a 4‑on/4‑off schedule from 6am to 6pm.

Applicants should have City & Guilds or NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and experience diagnosing faults using modern testing equipment. A full UK driving licence is required; HGV licence is a plus.

Key duties of the HGV Technician:

• Carrying out maintenance and repairs on various commercial vehicles and trailers
• Diagnosing faults using testing equipment and technical data
• Conducting preventative maintenance to reduce customer costs and downtime
• Completing warranty, retail, and contract paperwork accurately
• Supporting other tasks as directed by management to ensure operational excellence

Requirements for the HGV Technician position:

• City & Guilds or equivalent NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance
• Proven experience in the diagnosis, servicing, and repairs of commercial vehicles.
• Well‑organised with a strong attention to detail and problem‑solving skills
• Manufacturer training experience and technical knowledge up‑to‑date
• Full UK driving licence; HGV licence preferred but not essential
• Professional, friendly attitude with excellent communication skills
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure both independently and as part of a team

This is a full‑time, permanent position offering a salary of approximately £45,550 per annum.
