Job summary

Perfect Placement UK Ltd is seeking a highly skilled Night Shift HGV Technician to join a reputable commercial dealership in Pontefract, West Yorkshire. The role offers night shifts (Mon–Fri, 8pm–6am) and up to £25 per hour, with an equivalent around £52,000 annually for experienced technicians.

You will perform repairs, diagnostics, and routine maintenance on heavy goods vehicles, with ongoing training, manufacturer-approved programmes, and a strong focus on safety and wellbeing.

Qualifications

• Must hold Level 3 (NVQ, City and Guilds, or IMI) in HGV repair and maintenance.
• Proven experience in heavy vehicle repairs and diagnostics.
• Knowledge of DVSA standards and compliance requirements.
• Full UK driving licence suitable for HGV vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive repairs and maintenance on heavy goods vehicles.
• Conduct routine inspections, tyre rotations and oil changes.
• Diagnose faults using current diagnostic tools and techniques.
• Maintain accurate records of repair work and warranty claims.
• Manage inventory and keep workshop clean and organized.
• Provide emergency roadside repairs when required.

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Night Shift HGV Technician position based in Pontefract, West Yorkshire.

Duties of the Night Shift HGV Technician:

• Performing comprehensive repairs and maintenance on heavy goods vehicles
