Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair commercial vehicles to manufacturer and VOSA standards.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
• Complete scheduled inspections and prepare vehicles for MOT testing.
• Ensure vehicle availability aligns with delivery schedules.
• Promote and uphold health and safety standards within the workshop.
• Maintain a clean, organised and audit-ready working environment.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the Vehicle Maintenance Unit.
• Work flexibly across VMU tasks as required.

Job description

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for an HGV Technician to join their reputable and well-established organisation in Stockport.

As an HGV Technician, you will play an important role in maintaining a reliable and compliant commercial vehicle fleet.

The position is well suited to an experienced HGV Technician seeking a stable role with a forward-thinking employer.

• Competitive salary of up to £52,000 per annum, including overtime

Duties of a HGV Technician:

• Maintain and repair commercial vehicles to manufacturer and VOSA standards

Requirements:

• Proven experience in HGV fleet maintenance, ideally within a commercial environment
• City & Guilds HGV qualifications or an equivalent LGV Vehicle Crafts qualification
• Level 2 qualification as a minimum; Level 3, IRTEC or IMI accreditation is advantageous
• Strong diagnostic, organisational and teamwork skills
• Proactive approach with a commitment to continuous improvement
