Job summary

Tru Talent is recruiting an experienced HGV Technician in Basingstoke to service, maintain and repair HGVs and commercial vehicles. You will diagnose mechanical/electrical faults, complete inspections and ensure vehicles are safe and roadworthy.

We expect strong mechanical and diagnostic skills, knowledge of HGV systems, and the ability to work independently or in a team. The role offers a stable permanent contract with clear career development and benefits.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic or Commercial Vehicle Technician.
• NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent is required.
• Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills.
• Good knowledge of HGV systems and commercial vehicles.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Professional, reliable and flexible approach.
• Strong commitment to health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs and commercial vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults.
• Complete inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Carry out MOT preparation and rectification work.
• Accurately complete job cards and workshop paperwork.
• Work closely with colleagues to meet workshop targets.
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and to a high standard.

The Role

Essential:
