Job summary

NRG Riverside has a recruitment page for an experienced HGV Technician to service and repair a wide variety of vehicles, including bin wagons, at the West Lancs depot. Training will be provided to develop specialist skills, with a benefits package including discounted shopping, cinema and gym membership, and a talent development programme.

The successful candidate will work a 45-hour week on a 7-day on-call rota requiring 50% cover, have HGV qualifications, and ideally Class 2 license, with

Qualifications

• Experience as HGV technician/engineer with a strong diagnostic ability.
• Experience in waste/recycling sectors is advantageous.
• Municipal fleet maintenance including bin wagons is a plus.
• Ability to perform wheel alignments and repairs to a high standard.
• HGV qualification NVQ or City & Guilds or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Undertake routine inspection and repair of customers' vehicles in the workshop.
• Carry out MOT inspections and prepare vehicles for test.
• Attend breakdowns and complete necessary repairs to a high standard.
• Complete all compliance paperwork for rental fleet maintenance.

Salary: £45,793.80 per annum + Bonus + Amazing Benefits!

Monday 06:00-17:00, Tuesday - Friday 06.00-15.00

Monday 06.00-17.30 Tuesday - Friday 09.00-18.00

In this role, you will be responsible for the service and repair of a wide variety of vehicles including bin wagons. Specialist training will be provided where needed, to develop your existing skills to support our specialist assets. What candidate are we looking for?

• Experience from within a HGV Technician/ HGV Mechanic/ HGV Engineer role
• Experience in the Waste/Recycling industry would be great
• Municipal experience including working on Bin wagons is a plus
• Repairs and wheel alignment
• HGV Technical qualification - NVQ or City and Guilds equivalent.
• Class 2 licence preferred.
• Great team player whilst also able to work on own initiative.
• Awareness and understanding of Health and Safety practices.

What will be your duties?

• As the HGV Technician you will undertake routine inspection & repair of internal & external customers vehicles within the NRG workshop estate
• Undertake commercial vehicle MOT inspections, repair, and final preparation for MOT test
• Attend breakdowns, diagnose, and complete necessary repairs to a high standard
• Complete all compliance paperwork associated with the repair and maintenance of the rental fleet
