Job summary

Octane Recruitment Limited is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join a busy Nottingham workshop. You will service, inspect, maintain and repair HGVs and light commercial vehicles, diagnose faults, and perform routine maintenance. A Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair is required, along with the right to work in the UK.

Shift pattern is rotating with Saturdays on a rota. Category C+E licence and IRTEC accreditation are desirable but not essential.

Qualifications

• Level 3 City & Guilds/IMI/NVQ/BTEC equivalent in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Service, inspect, maintain and repair HGVs and commercial vehicles.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults.
• Carry out routine inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Identify and rectify faults on modern commercial vehicles.
• Complete repairs efficiently and to a high standard.
• Work across truck and light commercial vehicle applications.
• Maintain high workshop Health & Safety standards.

Job description

We are recruiting for an experienced HGV Technician, Commercial Vehicle Technician, Truck Technician or Heavy Vehicle Technician to join a busy commercial vehicle workshop in Nottingham. Applicants must have previous commercial vehicle experience, hold a relevant Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair and have the right to work in the UK. A Category C+E Driving Licence and IRTEC accreditation are desirable but not essential.

Location: Nottingham

Salary: £49,000-£60,000

Hours: Rotating weekly shifts, plus minimum 2 Saturdays per month

Week 1: Monday to Friday, 6:00am-3:30pm

Week 2: Monday to Thursday, 2:00pm-12:00am; Friday, 2:30pm-10:00pm

Saturdays are worked on a rota, with a minimum of two per month.

HGV Technician Requirements

• Previous experience as an HGV Technician, Commercial Vehicle Technician, Truck Technician or Heavy Vehicle Technician
• Previous commercial vehicle workshop experience
• Relevant Level 3 City & Guilds, Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI), NVQ or BTEC qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Ability to work the required rotating shift pattern
• Right to work in the UK
• Category C+E Driving Licence is desirable
• IRTEC accreditation is desirable
