Job summary

Perfect Placement UK Ltd is recruiting on behalf of a well-established commercial vehicle operation in Ilkeston for the position of HGV Technician. You will join a stable workshop with long-term job security and ongoing development prospects.

The role covers both HGV and LCV fleets, offering a varied workload within a supportive team. A competitive salary (£49,500 depending on experience) and structured training are provided to enhance your technical skills.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds or equivalent qualification in Commercial Vehicles preferred.
• HGV licence beneficial but not essential.
• Experience as a HGV Technician in a commercial workshop.
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
• Reliable, hardworking and organised with good communication.

Responsibilities

• Service, repair, and maintain HGVs and LCVs to high standards.
• Prepare vehicles for MOT testing and carry out inspections.
• Diagnose faults with modern diagnostic equipment.
• Perform mechanical and cosmetic repairs and warranty work.
• Carry out scheduled servicing and safety inspections.
• Replace vehicle components accurately and efficiently.
• Provide breakdown support when required.
• Maintain workshop documentation per manufacturer and DVSA standards.

Duties

Requirements
