Job summary

Tru Talent in Reading is seeking an experienced HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic for a permanent role in a busy commercial vehicle workshop. The role covers major and minor repairs, servicing, diagnostics and DVSA standards.

You will benefit from flexible shifts, overtime at 1.5x, and a benefits package including a birthday day off, 20 days holiday plus bank holidays, 4x salary death in service benefit, and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 3 HGV Maintenance qualification – NVQ, City & Guilds or IMI.
• Previous HGV Technician or HGV Mechanic experience.
• Strong diagnostic and mechanical repair skills.
• Ability to identify worn and faulty components to DVSA standards.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Carry out major and minor repairs on HGVs
• Complete servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance
• Diagnose faults using diagnostic equipment
• Identify worn and faulty components to DVSA standards
• Assist with wheel alignment and tyre fitting
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation
• Ensure high standards of safety, quality and compliance
