Job summary

Octane Recruitment Ltd in Nottingham is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join a busy workshop. You should have previous commercial vehicle experience and a Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, with right to work in the UK. Category C+E and IRTEC are desirable but not essential.

Location: Nottingham. Hours involve rotating weekly shifts, including Saturdays on a rota basis. This is a hands-on role in a busy commercial vehicle workshop with varied workload across HGVs

• Previous commercial vehicle experience is required.
• Relevant Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• Right to work in the UK.

Responsibilities

• Service, inspect, maintain and repair HGVs and commercial vehicles.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults.
• Carry out routine inspections and preventative maintenance.
• Complete repairs efficiently and to a high standard.
• Work across truck and light commercial vehicle applications.

Job description

We are recruiting for an experienced HGV Technician, Commercial Vehicle Technician, Truck Technician or Heavy Vehicle Technician to join a busy commercial vehicle workshop in Nottingham. Applicants must have previous commercial vehicle experience, hold a relevant Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair and have the right to work in the UK. A Category C+E Driving Licence and IRTEC accreditation are desirable but not essential.

Location: Nottingham

Hours: Rotating weekly shifts, plus minimum 2 Saturdays per month

Week 1: Monday to Friday, 6:00am-3:30pm

Week 2: Monday to Thursday, 2:00pm-12:00am; Friday, 2:30pm-10:00pm

Saturdays are worked on a rota, with a minimum of two per month.

• Previous commercial vehicle workshop experience
• Relevant Level 3 City & Guilds, Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI), NVQ or BTEC qualification in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
• Ability to work the required rotating shift pattern
• Right to work in the UK
• Category C+E Driving Licence is desirable
• IRTEC accreditation is desirable
