Job summary

Venatu Consulting Ltd in Nottingham is seeking an experienced HGV Technician to join our Vehicle Maintenance Unit. The role involves hands-on fleet work mainly on trailers, with some trucks and vans, in a long-standing, employee-focused team.

You will perform servicing, diagnostics, DVSA-compliant safety inspections, and MOT preparation as required, ensuring accurate records and high-quality workmanship, within a 4 on 4 off nights or days schedule.

Qualifications

• Qualified or time-served HGV Technician with relevant experience.
• Good knowledge of trailers and HGVs.
• Strong problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGV trailers, trucks and vans.
• Conduct safety inspections in line with DVSA standards.
• Perform diagnostic checks and fault finding on mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Complete MOT preparation when required.
• Ensure all work is recorded accurately and completed to a high standard.
• Keep the workshop and equipment clean, tidy and safe.

HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic

Location: Nottingham

Salary: £26.40ph nights / £22.00ph days

Hours: 4 on 4 off nights OR days

Contract: Permanent, full-time

We're looking for an experienced HGV Technician to join the team in Nottingham. The role is based at a Vehicle Maintenance Unit where you'll be carrying out fleet work, mainly on trailers but with some trucks and vans too. This is a hands-on role within a business that has been running for over 15 years. We're looking for someone reliable who takes pride in their work and can get the job done to a high standard.

What you’ll do as a HGV Technician:

• Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and repairs on HGV trailers, trucks, and vans
• Conduct safety inspections in line with DVSA standards
• Perform diagnostic checks and fault finding on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
• Complete MOT preparation and presentation when required
• Ensure all work is recorded accurately and completed to a high standard
• Keep the workshop and equipment clean, tidy, and safe
• Work to deadlines while maintaining a focus on quality and compliance
