Job summary

Octane Recruitment Limited is seeking a skilled HGV Technician for a Reading site to service, diagnose and repair a range of heavy commercial vehicles. The role offers a competitive base salary with overtime, a strong bonus structure and clear career progression within a family-owned group.

You will need a valid UK driving licence and ideally an HGV/ LGV/ PCV licence; training and career development are provided.

Qualifications

• HGV/heavy vehicle maintenance qualification or proven workshop experience
• Experience with servicing, maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on heavy vehicles
• Ability to work in a busy workshop team
• Own a well-stocked toolbox suitable for HGV duties
• HGV/LGV/PCV licence advantageous

Responsibilities

• Carrying out routine servicing, inspections and maintenance on heavy commercial vehicles
• Diagnosing mechanical, electrical and technical faults using modern diagnostic equipment
• Completing repairs to manufacturer standards across HGV and commercial vehicle systems
• Supporting breakdown, roadside or rota requirements and maintaining high levels of customer service

Job description

HGV Technician role for a skilled and flexible technician to join a purpose-built Reading site, working on a varied range of heavy commercial vehicles for a family-owned commercial vehicle group. Great salary, overtime, bonus opportunities, training and long-term career development available.

Must have the right to work in the UK and a full UK driving licence, Category C and Category C+E licence would be advantageous.

Location: Reading

Pay / salary:£45,000 basic per annum, OTE £64,000+ with overtime and bonus opportunities

Job type: Permanent / full-time role

Shift and schedule: Rotating shifts, Monday - Friday 6am - 3pm & Monday - Froday 1pm - 10pm (1 hour unpaid lunch)
